Featured Update July 2026: New Blogs

How AI Search is tuning out the noise
We are surrounded by an accelerating volume of online content, social media posts, advertising and increasingly AI-generated material. The useful signal is still there, but it is becoming harder to find. We lose productive time scrolling through information that adds little value, while the constant competition for attention is affecting how adults work, how we think and how children engage with the world around them.
AI Search may be just the antidote to this problem of information overload. Enabling us to personally filter out the real signal from the noise and just get relevant answers

Massey University · MBA Guest Lecture
Topic: Product–Market Fit & the AI Search Challenge

Digital Pivot had the privilege of guest lecturing to Massey University – Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa MBA students at the Albany campus on Product-Market Fit and the AI Search Challenge – exploring how businesses remain relevant, differentiated and discoverable as B2B buying increasingly moves into AI-led research. Included were practical examples using CiteCompass Forensic AEO tools.
What made the evening memorable was not the presentation. It was the quality of the questions and the willingness to engage and apply the concepts to real business situations.
Thank you, Simon Cope, and thank you to Jamal and the class for the generous welcome and exceptional engagement.
January Update 2026:
CiteCompass launches AI Visibility Suite to map AI visibility across the 5-stage B2B buying journey

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND — February 2, 2026 — CiteCompass today announced the launch of CiteCompass AI Visibility Suite, a platform designed to help B2B organisations measure and improve how often AI answer engines cite their brand, and to pinpoint where visibility breaks across the full customer buying journey. (CiteCompass)
As AI-driven search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews increasingly shape how buyers research, compare, and shortlist vendors, many organisations are discovering that traditional SEO metrics don’t explain whether they are influencing decisions inside AI answers. CiteCompass addresses this measurement gap by providing a structured, repeatable way to diagnose presence and authority across the buying journey stages where buyers form opinions and build internal momentum. (CiteCompass)
Unlike tools that focus mainly on keyword rankings or generic prompt visibility, CiteCompass is built around a full-funnel diagnostic model that maps visibility across five B2B buying stages: Problem, Business Case, Selection, Implementation, and Optimisation. This helps teams identify precisely where influence is missing and what needs to change to earn citations and trust in AI responses. (CiteCompass)
“AI search has compressed the buyer journey — and the most commercial decisions are increasingly being shaped inside AI interfaces,” said Doug Johnstone, Founder of CiteCompass. “If your brand isn’t being cited when buyers ask real questions at each stage of the journey, you’re not just missing clicks — you’re missing influence. We built CiteCompass to make that invisible journey measurable, and to give teams a clear GEO roadmap to act on.” (CiteCompass)
Key capabilities in the CiteCompass AI Visibility Suite include:
- AI Visibility Score (0–100) to consolidate performance signals across major AI platforms (CiteCompass)
- Buying Journey Diagnostic across the five B2B journey stages (Problem → Optimisation) (CiteCompass)
- AI Share of Voice & citation mapping, including competitor benchmarking and AI source analysis (CiteCompass)
- GEO Optimisation Hub, providing prioritised recommended actions to support a practical Generative Engine Optimisation roadmap (CiteCompass)
Availability
CiteCompass AI Visibility Suite is available in Early Access, with plans ranging from a one-off diagnostic through to ongoing monitoring and optimisation support. (CiteCompass)

December 2025 Update:
Snippet from our latest Blog for 2025 Now is the time for Businesses to Pivot and Hustle
The rules of business have profoundly changed
If 2025 has taught us anything, it is that the rules of business in New Zealand have changed for good. I am not just talking about global conflict, recessionary pressure, tariffs, or political churn. The rapid rise of AI platforms is reshaping every organisation, every role, and every category – including how B2B buyers discover, shortlist, and choose partners.
Investment in data centre capacity and AI capability is accelerating, and more NZ organisations are starting to see how AI can unlock real commercial value. But this shift brings both risk and opportunity. One thing is certain: standing still in these conditions is a very risky bet.

November 2025 Featured Insight: Guest-lecture at Massey University
Grateful for the chance to guest-lecture at Massey University on 29 October 2025, a two-hour, hands-on session on Product–Market Fit, Rapid Prototyping with AI, and the AI-Search/Zero-Click buyer journey.
Big thanks to Simon Cope and the School of Management & Marketing for the warm welcome and engaged cohort, hearing that several students were still talking about product-market fit over the weekend made my day.
Key takeaways for future leaders (and today’s B2B teams):
• Fit first: if your offer isn’t aligned to urgent customer outcomes, no amount of cadence will fix pipeline.
• Prototype faster: use AI-assisted design thinking to validate the problem before you scale the solution.
• Win the answer box: AI search is compressing clicks, be discoverable, differentiated, and cited.
